The National Club

Founded in 1874, the National Club is one of the oldest private clubs in Toronto and a designated heritage building, located in the heart of the city's financial district.

The objective of this project was to attract the next generation of members by modernizing the appearance of the club while also preserving its historic significance. Figure3 renovated a number of the club's hotel suites, the billiards room, and designed their all new restaurant, the 1874 Bar & Grill.

A balance was struck between the welcoming ambiance, design aesthetics, and functional requirements.

An open concept design was created in the restaurant in order to showcase the entertainment factor and skill of cooking. Diners are offered a view into the kitchen and enjoy a variety of different seating options, from fine dining and full service casual to countertop or bistro-style.
