Oak Bay

Oak Bay is an established community in Ontario’s celebrated Muskoka region. We were brought in as the lifestyle development community was moving into its third phase.

The challenge for us as designers was breathing new life into the existing model homes to ensure it was top of mind once again for target buyers.

Evoking a new Hamptons inspired mood at The Kerr

The team took the existing model homes and created a duo of palettes that would appeal to two core groups; families looking for a year-round weekend escape from the city and downsizers wanting to prioritise quality of life with access to a premium golf course, a marina and a wealth of other amenities.

The Woods model was conceived to evoke Scandinavian Hygge Style. Wood finishes from warm walnut, Canadian wormy maple, and natural oak abound and a wealth of textural fabrics from wool, linen, and mohair create depth and conjure an environment that promises to envelop. Furniture is clean and contemporary with finishes kept to a restrained minimum allowing the home to retain a balanced calmness. The Kerr model suggests classic Hamptons style – high loft ceiling, classic furniture pieces and a colour palette that’s muted and chic. Reading as elegant, clear and light; the home nonetheless feels cosy and inviting. A large sectional sofa and day bed dominate the main living space and occasional chairs for reading or lounging pepper the home. With plenty of space for entertaining or relaxing, this home presents as an enticing reason to choose Oak Bay.

Elevating the master bedroom to an elegant retreat space

"Luxurious and sophisticated, yet welcoming and unpretentious, both homes expertly reposition the development to invite buyers to take a lingering second look."
