Team Leader (Intermediate Designer)

Figure3 is an award-winning Toronto based design firm recognized for transforming the future by connecting people to place. We partner with business leaders to invent exceptional places for people to work, shop and live. Figure3 is currently seeking a Team Leader (Intermediate Designer)

Duties

Reporting to a Director, you will work collaboratively with the team to develop design solutions to support a variety of projects across multiple sectors from retail, workplace and multi-family residential developments. As a Team Leader you may lead aspects of projects accountable for managing the client relationship and driving deliverables throughout the project; or be a project team member contributing to all phases of the design process.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop innovative and sustainable design solutions
  • Lead day-to-day activities requiring direct client contact
  • Resolve project challenges as needed to ensure deadlines are met at all phases
  • Develop space plans and conceptual design incorporating lighting systems and custom fixtures
  • Work with external vendors and co-ordinate activities with architects and consulting engineers
  • Effectively present ideas and concepts to multiple stakeholders
  • Provide project direction to the team, manage resources, oversee the quality of deliverables
  • Oversee the development of drawing packages outlining all details
  • Coordinate with the GC to ensure the build is in accordance with the contract documents
  • Review progress of construction on site, reviewing shop drawings and approve finishes
  • Improve internal processes, provide coaching, and share expertise
  • Build positive relationships with clients and industry vendors

Qualifications

  • University graduate in Interior Design or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in creating and delivering innovative retail solutions
  • Demonstrated success in leading a design project as trusted advisor to clients
  • Confidence in your ability to manage client and consultant expectations
  • Active membership in relevant industry associations
  • AutoCAD skills are essential; Sketch-up, In-Design, abilities are beneficial
