Team Leader (Intermediate Designer), Retail

Catering to discerning clientele in retail and experiential marketing landscapes, we deliver creative customer journeys, and translate brand vision into sustainable, memorable, and immersive environments. Figure3 is currently seeking a Team Leader (Intermediate Designer), Retail. Reporting to the Director, Retail you will work collaboratively with the Retail Studio team on the development and implementation of design solutions for their projects. As a Team Leader you may lead aspects of projects accountable for managing the client relationship and driving deliverables throughout the project; or be a project team member contributing to all phases of the design process.

Duties

  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop innovative and sustainable design solutions
  • Lead day-to-day activities requiring direct client contact
  • Resolve project challenges as needed to ensure deadlines are met at all phases
  • Develop space plans and conceptual design incorporating lighting systems and custom fixtures
  • Work with external vendors and co-ordinate activities with architects and consulting engineers
  • Effectively present ideas and concepts to multiple stakeholders
  • Provide project direction to the team, manage resources, oversee the quality of deliverables
  • Oversee the development of drawing packages outlining all details
  • Coordinate with the GC to ensure the build is in accordance with the contract documents
  • Improve internal processes, provide coaching, and share expertise
  • Build positive relationships with clients and industry vendors

Qualifications

  • University graduate in Interior Design or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in creating and delivering innovative retail solutions
  • Demonstrated success in leading a design project as trusted advisor to clients
  • Confidence in your ability to manage client and consultant expectations
  • Active membership in relevant industry associations
  • Strong AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and InDesign skills essential
