Director, Workplace

Invoking design research and brand strategy, figure3 is redefining the workplace experience. As a member of the leadership team, you will work with the Principals and VPs to strategically build the commercial client base to achieve the next phase of sustainable growth. figure3 is currently seeking a Director, Workplace. Reporting to the Studio Lead, you will lead a team of interior design professionals ensuring services including workplace strategy, creative and technical are delivered in accordance with the contract and identified success measures.

Duties

As a trusted, conscientious, and confident ambassador for figure3 you will:

• Drive operational and project excellence ensuring all phases of projects are delivered on time and
on budget ensuring overall client satisfaction, internal productivity, and profitability
• Work collaboratively to develop, support, and execute high standards of design innovation
• Motivate, provide guidance and inspirational leadership for your studio team; positively
contributing to our workplace culture
• Manage employee performance plans, staff development, recognition and other HR activities in
accordance with Figure3 processes
• Oversee and co-ordinate efforts of designers meeting utilization targets and facilitating smooth
day-to-day project delivery
• Participate in billable work as appropriate; own client relationships for key accounts
• Foster strong relationships with existing and prospective clients as an ambassador for Figure3
• Actively participate in pitches and work with a Principal to develop fee proposals for new business
• Advocate utilizing figure3’s research-based discovery process as a means of differentiation
• Proactively communicate with all stakeholders including clients, contractors, suppliers, or other
partners; facilitate effective resolution of escalated issues and challenges
• Ensure compliance with figure3 policy and procedures
• Maintain project billing schedules and review monthly invoicing
• Identify opportunities to provide additional services / solutions that address client’s needs and
business strategy/objectives
• Recommend improvements to figure3 operational policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in full-cycle interior design project delivery for corporate clients
• Relevant post-secondary education in Interior Design or other relevant discipline
• Experience in building and tracking complex commercial project budgets and schedules (Ajera and
MS Project preferred)
• Licensed or accredited by an industry body
• BCIN qualification (Large Building)
• Project Manager designation is beneficial
• Compelling strategic thinker with strong business acumen
• Insightful, intuitive, resourceful, and approachable
• Persuasive communication and presentation skills
• Focused, detailed oriented with strong follow-through
