The Buckingham

The Buckingham will be the first phase of the new 55-acre master-planned community of Grand Central Mimico just west of Toronto. With easy access to the Mimico Go Station, The Buckingham will offer a new way of living in the neighbourhood, with office space, retail, and a multitude of amenities, just steps from the lake, with brilliant views of Toronto’s downtown.

Figure3 was inspired by the industrial heritage of the neighbourhood, and connects the interiors with The Buckingham’s exterior architectural details; the result is very unique to the area. The lobby is vast and open, resembling a modern train station with exposed ceilings and concrete floors. The industrial tones are complimented with moody lighting and fine materials such as white oak and brass inlays creating a warm and inviting space. This effortless juxtaposition is carried throughout The Buckingham and its amenity spaces.

Figure3 used the expansive mezzanine level to create an active amenity zone designed for socializing and entertaining. The intimate party room reminds one of a hotel lobby lounge, connected via the grand terrace to double-height amenities in The Buckingham’s two other towers. A private dining room, sports lounge, and co-working spaces opens to the outdoors, while a 7,515 square foot multi-level fitness and wellness centre features amazing views.
